RAD is a relational disciple-making and leadership development process that fuels church planting multiplication originally created for rural, semi-literate, and non-literate settings in North India. Leadership development participants gathered once a month for three days of training, followed by field-based coaching and practice throughout the rest of the month. The process began with broad disciple-making training for groups of believers and then moved into an intensive “come and be with me” model with a smaller group of emerging leaders. Through practice, oral learning, mentoring, and ministry experience, participants explored not only how to make disciples and plant churches, but also the biblical and theological foundations behind the work. Since its development, RAD materials and concepts have been translated into more than ten languages and continue to be used by missions practitioners and local partners across South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The materials available for download include the full RAD Manual, which explains the complete process, leadership development approach, sample schedules, covenants, coaching questions, and lesson content. Additional resources include a reproducible theological doctrine exercise, a practical Old and New Testament Survey, and short disciple-making booklets designed for translation and use among local believers. While the full manual was primarily written to help missionaries and experienced national partners understand and facilitate the process, the shorter exercises and booklets were intentionally designed to be learned orally, practiced in community, translated into local languages, and passed naturally from one generation of disciples and leaders to the next.
